What we're looking for:FictionNovels, novellas, and short stories in the following genres:
NonfictionWe are particularly interested in history of the sort not found in textbooks -- we are not looking for dry recitations of names and dates, but the stories of people from earlier times. Pre-20th century is preferred.We are open to other types of nonfiction, especially works related in some manner to drama or gaming. Gaming materialsWe are interested in the areas of live action roleplaying and pen and paper roleplaying, as well as other games which may be delivered via an electronic medium. We tend towards rules-light roleplaying games, with focus primarily on plot or setting.For pen and paper roleplaying, we are particularly looking for adventures and scenarios utilizing the Fudge system. Adventures utilizing other rules-light, open gaming systems may be considered. For live action games, we are looking for LARPs written for a dozen players or less. OtherWe will also consider other types of works, such as plays or graphic novels.QueriesIf you are interested in submitting to Rogue Publishing, first send a short description of the work, no more than a few paragraphs, to publisher@roguepublishing.com.ProposalsIf your query piques our interest, you will be asked to submit a proposal. Proposals should detail the plot of a novel; outline all major topics to be covered in a work of nonfiction; or explain the basic scenario and rules system of a game. Proposals often will include a sample of the finished work; usually (but not always) the first several chapters.SubmissionsElectronic submissions can be made in ASCII, MS Word, or WordPerfect format. For other formats, ask first. Although electronic submissions are preferred, hard copy submissions are also acceptable.Rogue Publishing uses the Chicago Manual of Style, 14th edition, and Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 10th edition. Foreign authors should be advised that American spellings and grammatical rules will be followed. |
